黄云超教授、博士、博士研究生导师，二级教授。云南省癌症中心主任，云南省肿瘤医院（昆明医科大学第三附属医院）院长，人事部昆明医科大学第三附属医院博士后科研工作站负责人，教育部高原区域性高发肿瘤国际合作联合实验室主任、云南省肿瘤研究所所长、云南省肺癌重点实验室主任、云南省肺癌研究所所长、云南省肺癌研究协同创新中心主任、云南省肺癌国际科技合作基地主任、云南省高层次卫生技术“百十人才”工程领军人才，云南省“云岭名医、云岭学者”、云南省高发肺癌省防治创新团队和云南省高校胸外科创新团队首席专家，云南省科技先进工作者，卫计委农村、城市肺癌筛查早诊早治专家组成员，卫计委肺癌、食管癌、贲门癌筛查早诊早治项目云南负责人，云南省学术和技术带头人、昆明医科大学学科带头人、云南省省级重点专科项目负责人、享受云南省政府特殊津贴。
中国抗癌协会常务理事、中国抗癌协会肺癌专业委员会常委、中国医师协会胸外科医师分会常务委员、云南省肺癌防治协会会长、中华预防医学会肿瘤预防与控制专业委员会常委、云南省抗癌协会理事会副理事长兼秘书长、云南省抗癌协会康复会会长、云南省医师协会副会长，《中国胸心血管外科临床杂志》，《中国肺癌杂志》，《中国心血管病研究杂志》编委。
1985 年毕业于华西医科大学临床医学专业，1995 年在华西医科大学获胸心外科硕士学位，1998 年在华西医科大学获胸心外科博士学位。2000年破格晋升教授。分别于2001 年、2003 年、2015前往德国洪堡大学、奥地利维也纳总医院、美国安德森癌症中心（MD Anderson）进修学习胸心血管外科、胸部肿瘤外科。
在云南省率先开展了全胸腔镜下肺叶切除、淋巴结清扫术；单操作孔、弹孔胸腔镜下肺癌根治术、纵隔肿瘤切除术；擅长肺癌、食管癌、纵隔肿瘤和胸壁肿瘤等疾病的外科为主的综合治疗，特别是气管肿瘤切除气管成形；气管肿瘤切除隆突成形；袖式肺叶除；肺癌扩大切除；食管、贲门癌切除胃代食管吻合；食管癌切除结肠代食管；Heller's 术；纵隔内巨大肿瘤切除；重症肌无力胸腺切除；胸壁恶性肿瘤切除胸壁修补成形；胸壁巨大血管瘤切除等手术。
在云南省率先开展心脏移植手术，在西南地区最先开展胸主动脉等大血管瘤腔内支架隔绝手术，擅长体外循环下心脏病手术，先天性心脏病房间隔缺损、室间隔缺损、动脉导管未闭封堵术，胸、腹主动脉夹层及主动脉瘤的介入治疗。
主持国家自然科学基金重点项目1 项，国家自然科学基金面上项目5 项，国家自然科学基金委员会与香港特区政府联合科研资助基金1 项，科技部重大项目（分课题）2项，美国NCI重大项目1项，云南省应用基础研究重点项目2 项、云南省中青年人才培养基金、云南省国际合作项目、云南省基础研究面上项目等科研项目10 余项，共获得研究经费2340余万元。主持的课题获云南省科学技术进步特等奖一项，一等奖一项，二等奖二项。
培养了硕士研究生60 多名，博士研究生20余名。
主编《临床肺癌学》、《实用胸部肿瘤诊断与治疗》、《食管癌多学科综合治疗学》，《临床肿瘤学概论》、《临床肿瘤外科学》、《临床肿瘤内科学》、《临床肿瘤放射治疗学》、《临床肿瘤病理学》、《环境肺癌学》等多部教材及专著，参与编写《肺科学》、《中国肺癌临床治疗指南（2009、2011、2014、2015版）》、《癌症早诊早治项目技术方案2011年版》、《癌症分子生物学机制、靶点和治疗》、《解剖图谱》等多部教材及专著，并翻译国外专著《胸心外科学》。
担任了《中国胸心血管外科临床杂志》、《中国肺癌杂志》、《中国心血管病研究杂志》、《昆明医科大学学报》等杂志编委。
在国内外各类杂志发表论文80 余篇，其中 SCI论文20余篇。
